BRANDVOICE
Classical rags to riches stories have always been a favorite among readers, probably because most of us can relate to the relentless struggles against the odds. The protagonist’s grit inspires us to keep fighting for our goals, and in some cases, like Pasquale Minasi’s, it reminds us that we are stronger than our challenges and that our current situation does not have to be our future. It only takes belief in yourself and your goals to rewrite your story just like Pasquale.
Pasquale Minasi built his empire from the ground up. He went from working as a bartender to owning one of the world’s most preferred hair transplant clinics, BlueMagic Group International.
BlueMagic Group is ranked as one of the top hair transplant clinics in Istanbul,Turkey. It is the only clinic in Istanbul featured on Bloomberg, Sunday Times, The Guardian,The Metro and on Times Square Billboards in New York. BlueMagic Group is also the first hair transplant clinics in Istanbul to publish a book on hair transplant, currently for sale on Amazon, Walmart, and more.
Pasquale’s diverse business background and open-mindedness towards learning, people, and even failure have helped him break into the industry and build a top clinic. BlueMagic Group has a team of 90+ with offices in London (head office), Istanbul, and Tirana.
Becoming an Entrepreneur
Pasquale Minasi is a young entrepreneur and investor who started his journey more than ten years ago. According to Pasquale, he always wanted to be his own boss and create a service/product for others. This inspired him to start saving early.
Pasquale worked in hospitality, healthcare, insurance, and finance sector, to name a few. He worked as a bartender in different clubs in the UK. Before he started BlueMagic Group, Pasquale also worked as a real estate agent. During his time in real estate, he started looking into the hair transplant market.
He noticed that the industry was highly unexplored, and many gaps made it harder for the consumer to get what they wanted.
A hair transplant is a life-changing experience for someone struggling with hair loss and going under the knife. Their wish is that they wake up feeling and looking ‘normal’. However, not all hair transplants are successful.
There have been cases where the procedure fails due to various factors including lack of proper understanding of the hair transplant treatment, inexperienced surgeons, improper graft handling, and poor post-operative care. Hair transplant procedures have recently become popular, with many clinics opening up in Turkey and other places in the world. But not everyone understands the basics. Pasquale explains that most patients are unfamiliar with the procedures because there are limited internet research materials. It is also a bit harder to find a qualified hair transplant specialist.
As someone who had a hair transplant and has been studying the industry for the last ten years, Pasquale is breaking down hair transplant procedures into easy-to-understand terms. His company, BlueMagic Group, is improving and transforming hair transplants to bring in more transparency.
BlueMagic Group has adopted the latest technologies, which the team uses in various hair restoration procedures. They are working to ensure that full details about advanced treatments are easily available to prospective patients with zero jargon or myths. This helped the clinic build a solid community and establish long-lasting relationships with its patients. BlueMagic Group has grown to $65M, with patients coming in from over 30 countries.
But it was a challenge for BlueMagic Group to reach this level. It took Pasquale years of hard work and many sacrifices. As a young entrepreneur, he also encountered many challenges.
Overcoming the Obstacles
Pasquale Minasi had a tough time growing BlueMagic Group. Seeing what he offers is slightly different and more advanced than what is available, he explains, and selling his services was challenging. During the first few months, many were skeptical about the products.
But Pasquale did not give up. To shine more light on hair transplants, he wrote a book, All you need to Know about Hair Transplant. The book offers a detailed overview of the hair transplant industry, including the different options that have enabled him to sell his services as more people now understand hair transplants and how technology can improve the industry.
Another obstacle Pasquale faced was COVID. When the world shut down, he had just opened his third Consultancy Office, this time in Tirana. This was a huge blow as he had invested a considerable amount in the new offices, and before he could get any return, there was a travel ban. Unlike some businesses where you can work remotely, Pasquale did not have this option, and he had to figure out a way to keep the business running for the worldwide patients and adhere to guidelines.
Pasquale reduced congestion by decreasing the number of outpatients in a day. They also used protective gear, among other strategies, which helped them make the branch a success. In 26 months, the Tirana office went from 4 to 35 employees and from a 100 m2 office to a 1200 m2 in the heart of Tirana.
His advice to Other Entrepreneurs
As an entrepreneur, challenges are inevitable. Sometimes you will not have all the funding, and other times it will be hard to develop an effective strategy. It is more difficult when you are a young entrepreneur. Younger people are not taken as seriously as older entrepreneurs, and people will always question your business’s sustainability and credibility, says Pasquale. However, what matters most is how you see yourself and your ability to remain focused during these tough times.
Rather than spend too much time crying because of that deal that did not go your way, Pasquale advises others to focus on the lessons as it will help them know what they could have done better and avoid making a similar mistake in the future. He adds the importance of investing in your brand as it will help you attract the right people.
“The law of attraction is one of the philosophies I believe in, and it has helped change my life. This law suggests that positive thoughts bring positive results into a person’s life while negative thoughts bring negative outcomes, which means your self-image is a great determinant of success. When you become a leader within yourself, you begin attracting and manifesting all that you desire in life, including the right circle who will help you expand your venture,” says Pasquale.
He also stresses the need to work hard and be ready to make sacrifices. Starting your own business makes it harder to maintain social connections, especially during the first stages, as you will spend a lot of your time on the business. This can be mentally draining as you want everything to work according to plan, which is not always the case. To avoid more disappointments, it is great to have your circle on the same page as their support can make a big difference, adds Pasquale.
What’s Next for Pasquale
As Pasquale continues to grow his brand, he is eying new opportunities. He is looking to invest in other companies in hair transplant and other industries. He says his goal is to invest in over 250 businesses in different markets and industries within the next 24-36 months.
Pasquale has already invested in 103 start-ups. He is also involved in other ventures, including co-founder of APG (Albania Padel Group), the first Padel center in the Balkans.
Pasquale is also looking to join Shark Tank. “I believe Shark Tank is one of the best places for young people to launch their ideas and get the funding to help them make these ideas a reality, and it is a project that I would like to be a part of. Most importantly, Shark Tank helps you see the world through a different lens, pushing you to step out of your comfort zone. The business space is competitive, and people want someone who will fit changing customer demands. Interacting with other young innovators on Shark Tank can help you grow your brand and improve your brands,” concludes Pasquale.
In the meantime, Pasquale is leveraging his social platforms to help other young entrepreneurs by showing them that nothing is unattainable. When he started BlueMagic Group, he did not have much. He only had what he had saved working as a bartender and real estate agent. But Pasquale didn’t let that hold him back. He began with what he had, and through hard work has now built a top hair transplant clinic. BlueMagic Group is worth $65M+. Pasquale aims to achieve $250M within the next 12 months.BlueMagic Group has a vision to be the leading provider of hair transplantation services in the markets where they operate in the UK, Istanbul, and Tirana. They are working to change the hair transplant industry by bringing in more transparency and new services. BlueMagic Group International currently provides hair transplant services like FUE Sapphire Hair Transplant, DHI CHOI PEN, and Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy.
