It’s hard to compete for airtime when you’re seated behind sporting royalty – especially when that “royal” is the newly knighted David Beckham. But Eddie Redmayne held his own in the Royal Box on Day One of Wimbledon, turning up in a double-breasted cream suit, tortoiseshell sunglasses, and a stunning red-dial Omega Aqua Terra.

The Oscar winner and The Day of the Jackal star is an Omega ambassador and longtime friend of the brand. He’s worn everything from vintage-inspired dress pieces to diver-heavy sport models, usually with the same kind of effortless formality that Wimbledon expects.
This time, it was the Aqua Terra Shades in stainless steel, a 38mm model with a lacquered red dial. It’s priced at AU$11,750.

Redmayne’s courtside appearance comes as Omega expands the Aqua Terra family with a smaller, more restrained lineup.
Released in May, the new 30mm collection trims the proportions, softens the colour palette, and leans into the kind of luxury that’s easy to miss (unless you’re watch spotting at Wimbledon, like us).

Omega’s Aqua Terra 30mm Lineup
In May, Omega expanded its Aqua Terra collection with a new 30mm case size. It’s the smallest automatic Master Chronometer in the Aqua Terra lineup to date, arriving with twelve new references positioned as more compact, wearable alternatives within the existing range.
The lineup includes five models in stainless steel, one in 18K Sedna™ gold, and three in 18K Moonshine™ gold. Three additional references use a two-tone combination of gold and steel. All models feature integrated bracelets with Omega’s screw-and-pin system and butterfly clasp, along with a 2mm comfort adjustment mechanism.

Each watch is fitted with a sun-brushed lacquered dial in one of several colours, including soft green, lavender, silver, beige, and blue. Hour markers are applied, and every reference features a small date window at 6 o’clock.
The collection is powered by new in-house calibres developed specifically for the 30mm size. Stainless steel and two-tone models use the Master Chronometer Calibre 8750, while the Sedna™ and Moonshine™ gold models are equipped with Calibre 8751.
Both movements are METAS-certified, anti-magnetic to 15,000 gauss, and provide a 48-hour power reserve.
Each model also includes a transparent sapphire crystal caseback, offering a view of the rhodium-plated movement and bridges with Geneva wave finishing. The movement incorporates Omega’s Co-Axial escapement and a free-sprung balance with silicon balance spring.
This is the first time Omega has developed movements tailored specifically for the 30mm scale, rather than adapting existing calibres. The launch positions the Aqua Terra 30mm as a standalone series within the broader Seamaster family, offering the same technical standards in a more compact case size.
