There is a limited edition watch for everything these days. Parmigiani Fleurier has teamed up with the University of Texas and its foundation, the Forty First Foundation, to create the Tonda PF Sport Chronograph Longhorn Limited Edition.

Proceeds from the sale of the 50 watches will help fund special projects through the Foundation, including supporting student-focused food banks, campus pantries and closets, funding the arts and strengthening vital community initiatives across Austin, Texas. The watches will be sold through the Forty First Foundation, affiliated with the University of Texas, rather than through Parmigiani Fleurier’s regular distribution channels.

The watch has a high-frequency movement, with an escapement that beats at 36,000 vph rather than the standard 28,800 vph. The higher the frequency, the more accurate the watch. Caliber PF070 is also COSC-certified for exceptional precision. It has a 65-hour power reserve and a 22k gold rotor, a Parmigiani Fleurier signature.

In a nod to the University of Texas Austin’s burnt orange school color, the watch is accented by orange Super-LumiNova hour markers, along with orange numerals on the subdials and date window. Otherwise the dials are silver with a barleycorn guilloche pattern, and gray subdials – chronograph minute and hour counters at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock, and a running seconds at 6 o’clock. There are two versions: 40 pieces in stainless steel, and 10 pieces in 18k rose gold. Both come with integrated bracelets, giving them a true luxury sport watch vibe. Each also comes with two hand-stitched rubber straps in off-white and burnt orange, exclusive to this edition. The school’s logo, a Texas Longhorn, is engraved on each case side at nine o’clock.

The watch is available to UT alumni, collectors and enthusiasts worldwide, and can be ordered by contacting the Forty First Foundation. It will be available starting November 28.
