Ha is alumnus of both the 2025 Forbes Australia and Forbes Asia 30 Under 30, and recently starred in the most popular Australian series on Netflix. Her next challenge is a Cinderella storyline set in Mayfair.

The standout Australian series on Netflix in the second half of 2025 was a 6-episode murder mystery shot in a coastal Tasmanian town. The Survivors delivered 8.3 million views for the streamer, keeping eyeballs glued to TV screens for more than 41 million hours.
One of the stars of The Survivors is 28-year-old NIDA graduate Yerin Ha, who is about to get a whole lot more Netflix screentime. Ha was born in Sydney, but as of late, she has been spending a lot of her time on set in England, playing Sophie Baek, the leading lady in the upcoming 4th season of Bridgerton.
Baek is the paramour of Bridgerton son, Benedict. The logline for this season of the Netflix smash hit should sound familiar. “While Benedict knows his love interest as only the Lady in Silver, she’s actually Sophie, a resourceful maid with her own secrets and dreams,” the show notes read.
“The storyline is a bit of a twist on ‘Cinderella.’ You remember being told those stories as a child — the magic and the romance of them,” explains Luke Thompson, who plays co-lead Benedict Bridgerton. “It’s really exciting to have that weaved into the world that we know of Bridgerton. It’s such a great story, but it’s also, I hope, really relatable.”
Before she was cast, Ha and Thompson did a chemistry read via Zoom, while the actress was in Korea visiting her grandmother, Son Sook.
“What drew me to Sophie was that she immediately has obstacles – something that she constantly has to overcome,” says Ha. “Whether it’s this battle around social status or trying to hide her feelings from Benedict.”

The Regency setting of Bridgerton is a great departure from the Australiana settings of both The Survivors and Bad Behaviour – for which Ha was nominated for a Logie – and the futuristic roles Yerin took on for science fiction series Halo and Dune: Prophecy.
Joining a bonafide streaming smash
Season 1 of Bridgerton is the seventh most-watched series of all time on Netflix, having achieved 113 million views since its release in the depths of the pandemic in 2020. Season 3 is not far behind at ninth-on the global list of most popular series, amassing total viewership of 846 million hours.
This season of Bridgerton is based on romance novelist Julia Quinn’s ‘An Offer From a Gentleman.’ The book transposes Cinderella’s attendance at the royal ball, with Baek’s at Lady Bridgerton’s masquerade party, where she clandestinely meets her Prince Charming.
In real-life, Ha met Thompson for the first time at the London home of the Bridgerton showrunner.
“I remember Luke stood there with arms wide open, just ready for an embrace,” says Ha. “That was the moment I was like, ‘Ah, OK, I don’t need to stress about these little things now. I can just genuinely focus on the on-screen connection with him.’”
Season 4 of Bridgerton comprises of 8 episodes. The first 4 will drop on Netflix on January 29, and the second half will be available to the audience on February 26.
