The Swiss marque’s shiny new storefront, in the midst of Chatswood Chase’s luxury retail precinct, sets its sights on well-heeled shoppers in North Sydney.

After the arrival of a multi-storey flagship on Market Street last August, Omega is continuing the strategic expansion of its retail footprint in Sydney – this time, by ranging across the harbour.
The brand’s third direct point of sale in the New South Wales capital has opened for business in Chatswood Chase: bringing one of the dominant forces of Swiss watchmaking into a $625 million retail precinct that’s already home to the biggest names in international luxury.
On the store’s first-floor location across the way, shoppers will notice Jaeger-LeCoultre; along with boutiques from the LVMH houses, Rimowa and Tiffany & Co, on either side.

Notably continuing in the vein of Omega’s boutique on Market Street, this 224 sqm outpost features a façade split into gridded geometries, illuminated and finished in primary hues. In Australia, the brand’s design ethos has been inspired by the work of Piet Mondrian: the 20th century Dutch painter, and pioneering figure in the development of Neoplasticism.
Inside, the shopping experience that customers can expect thankfully hasn’t been subordinated to pure abstraction.
Individual spaces find the overlap between art, watchmaking, and even a somewhat residential charm: as in the VIP lounge, a private consultation space where shoppers can thumb through a range of “curated artistic elements”, over coffee or cocktails from the boutique’s standalone bar.

The opening of Omega Chatswood Chase brings the watchmaker’s physical presence up to seven boutiques nationwide: joining existing locations in Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast.
At time of writing, the focus here will be on the brand’s “four iconic watch collections” – Constellation, Seamaster, Speedmaster, De Ville – with an additional offering of fine jewellery and the burgeoning fine fragrance line.
Raynald Aeschlimann, long-time CEO and President of Omega, says that the opening affirms “[the brand’s growing presence in Australia, which continues to be a significant and important market”. “It’s an exciting store in this beautiful and modern shopping precinct, and we look forward to welcoming everyone inside.”
