To mark the upcoming Singapore Grand Prix on October 11, IWC Schaffhausen unveiled a new team watch for its partner, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team.

IWC SchaffhausenCrafted from lightweight and robust Grade 5 titanium, the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team (Ref. IW388121) features a deep purple dial—a first for IWC’s Pilot’s Watch collection. The color is inspired by Singapore’s national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim orchid, which was bred in 1893 by Armenian-Singaporean horticulturist Agnes Joaquim. As with previous team watches, the dial incorporates details in the team’s signature Petronas green.
IWC has partnered with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas team since 2013. Since 2022, the official team watches have reflected a shared focus on performance, engineering and cutting-edge design. The series, which includes several chronographs and an automatic model, is defined by common design codes and the use of advanced materials such as titanium, ceramic and IWC’s proprietary Ceratanium, along with accents in Petronas green.
The defining feature of the new chronograph is the saturated purple dial, a tribute to Singapore and its national flower. IWC says the orchid is a symbol of resilience, boldness and innovation.

IWC SchaffhausenPetronas green provides a striking contrast. The color is used for the numerals and indices, as well as the luminescent coating on the hands. A purple rubber strap with IWC’s “EasX-CHANGE” system completes the design.
The titanium 41mm case with a height of 14.5mm reflects the material’s important role in Formula One. Titanium is used in engine components including connecting rods and valves, while the metal also contributes to driver safety through the Halo device, which arches over the cockpit as a protective structure. The case has a brushed finish that emphasizes titanium’s silvery-gray luster. The case has a water resistance of up to 10 bar (about 330 feet).
The watch is powered by IWC’s in-house 69385 caliber, which uses a classical column-wheel architecture. The chronograph’s elapsed minutes are displayed at 12 o’clock in IWC’s signature vertical subdial configuration, a feature of the brand’s Pilot’s chronographs for more than four decades. A combined day-date display at 3 o’clock adds everyday functionality. The bidirectional pawl-winding system provides a 46-hour power reserve.

The first Mercedes-AMG Petronas team watch was introduced at the 2022 Miami Grand Prix. The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Edition “Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team” (Ref. IW388108) featured a titanium case. The following year, at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, IWC introduced the Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team (Ref. IW388306), with a Ceratanium case and polished black ceramic bezel with a tachymeter scale.
In 2025, IWC opened the Formula One season with the Pilot’s Watch Mark XX Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team (Ref. IW328210), a three-hand model noted for its slender profile and versatility.
Like its predecessors, the new Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team watch by IWC will be worn trackside by team members, including mechanics and engineers, as well as by staff at the team’s headquarters in Brackley, England. The launch also coincides with a new collection from adidas, the team’s official partner and kit supplier.
