While several highly anticipated new TV shows are premiering in 2026, a number of series will also be airing their final seasons this year.

Starz, Netflix and Prime Video
If you’re wondering whether one of your favorites is coming to an end, keep reading for a list of all the shows canceled in 2026 (so far).
Netflix currently has the highest number of cancelations, which isn’t surprising. (The streaming giant has earned a reputation for axing series too soon.) Last year alone, Netflix canceled 11 original shows, including The Recruit, The Waterfront, Boots and The Residence — all of which spent time in the streamer’s Top 10 TV chart.
In 2026, Netflix is saying goodbye to several fan-favorite series, including Outer Banks, which will air its fifth and final season sometime this year. Production officially wrapped in December 2025 and marks the first chapter without JJ (Rudy Pankow), who was killed off in the Season 4 finale. Also set to conclude are the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Witcher, both of which have already completed filming.
Paramount+ with Showtime’s Yellowjackets is ending as well, although a release date for an upcoming fourth season has not been announced. Co-creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson confirmed the thriller’s fate in October. “We’ve always known there would come a point when the story would tell us it wants to end, and it’s our belief that our job — our responsibility — is to listen,” they said in a statement, per TVLine.
The Boys, based on the best-selling comic that depicts superheroes abusing their powers rather than using them for good, will air its final season beginning April 8, 2026. The first teaser trailer teases a dire situation for Billy Butcher and his crew, who are now living under Homelander’s dictatorship following the events of Season 4.
The beloved fantasy-romance drama Outlander is also bidding farewell. Season 8 will be available beginning March 6, 2026. According to Starz, viewers “can anticipate tender romance and the edge-of-your-seat drama Outlander fans have come to cherish over the past eight seasons, as the celebrated and genre-defining series approaches its epic conclusion.”
