Key Facts

Messi, who has three sons with Argentinian social media influencer and model Antonela Roccuzzo, is now the owner of a 10,500-square-foot estate with 8 bedrooms, 9.5 bathrooms, a three-car garage and a pool.

The home, sold by Samuel and Donna Simpkin at Compass Florida, is located in a cul-de-sac and includes 170 feet of waterfront in the community of Bay Colony, where author and social media influencer Patrick Bet-David reportedly set a community record with the 2021 purchase of a $20.4 million mansion.

The ultra-modern house, which sits on less than half an acre, includes two boat docks, a spa, fitness room and 1,600-square-foot primary bedroom.

Property taxes on the mansion are estimated to be $83,400 per year.

Key Background

Messi signed an unprecedented 2.5-year deal with Inter Miami earlier this year said to be “worth up to $150 million total” including his salary, signing bonus, team equity and reported revenue-sharing agreements with Apple and Adidas. He was ranked second on this year’s list of highest-paid athletes by Forbes with an estimated $130 million in earnings between May of 2022 and 2023. The new mansion is just the latest addition to his impressive real estate portfolio—he also paid a reported $7.3 million for the entire ninth floor at Regalia, an ultra-luxury condominium development in the city of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. He is said to have owned—and may still—a $7 million estate near Barcelona, a $5 million condo in Miami and a sprawling property with a 15-car garage, theater and gym in his hometown of Rosario, Argentina, according to Architectural Digest.

Tangent

Messi isn’t the only star to have recently put down roots in South Florida. Gisele Bündchen, supermodel and Tom Brady’s ex wife, bought a home in Southwest Ranches, Florida for just over $9 million, the Wall Street Journal reported. Her 7.5-acre property includes a 5,200-square-foot house, two equestrian rings, a stock pond for fishing and a full-sized soccer pitch. Chad Bishop of ONE Sotheby’s International Realty told the WSJ the model plans to have horses, chickens and other farm animals. Southwest Ranches is located about 25 miles from Messi’s new neighborhood.
