Key Takeaways
  • Qantas is expanding its loyalty program with a new offer that allows members to earn up to 110 Status Credits on everyday spending across eight categories.
  • Members will receive 20 Status Credits for every 1,000 Qantas Points earned in the Cards & Banking, Utilities & Services, and Insurance categories, and 10 Status Credits for every 1,000 points earned in the Hotels & Travel, Fuel & Car, Food & Wine, Retail & Shopping, and Leisure & Entertainment categories.
  • The limited-time offer runs until 31 December 2025 for all members who register via the Qantas website by 31 October and marks the first time Status Credits can be earned on the ground at scale.
  • The initiative builds on a series of recent moves by Qantas to reward loyalty, including double status credit offers and bonus status credits for active members.
Crucial Quote

“While flying will always be at the core of the program, this offer is about expanding the ways we recognise our members both in the air and on the ground,” says Qantas Loyalty CEO Andrew Glance.

Key Background

Members progress through the Frequent Flyer program based on the number of Status Credits they accumulate each membership year. Silver status is reached with 300 credits, offering benefits like priority check-in and lounge access, while 700 credits unlock Gold, with perks such as extra baggage and preferred seating. Higher tiers, including Platinum and Platinum One, require 1,400 and 3,600 credits respectively, and provide even more exclusive privileges, including premium lounge access and upgrade priority.
