Omega’s third Sydney boutique just landed in Westfield’s Market Street wing, and it comes complete with a 2.4-metre-tall golden astronaut statue standing watch at the entrance.

Just a stones throw from its Martin Place store, the Swiss watchmaker has officially opened the doors to its Market Street boutique.
From outside, the façade reads like an art piece. Broad white lines carve up blocks of red, blue and yellow, borrowed straight from Piet Mondrian’s grid.
It’s hard to miss as you make your way through the CBD. As we pulled up to inspect the latest lineup of 30mm Aqua Terra’s, a few curious shoppers stopped in their tracks, granted not to inspect the timepieces, but rather for a photo with the giant golden astronaut standing by the entrance.
Inside, the 326-square-metre space unfolds over two levels.
On the ground floor, low-profile cases showcase Omega’s four key lines: Constellation, Seamaster, Speedmaster and De Ville.
Toward the back, the Speedmaster gets its own moment beside the astronaut statue. A small plaque lays out how NASA picked Omega in 1965 and how that model went on to time lunar missions.

Heading upstairs to the mezzanine lounge, you’ll find a neat bar counter and a few armchairs set around display tables. The low ceiling and muted grey walls soften the mall noise, so you can settle in for a one-on-one appointment or simply pause over a glass of water.
Along one side of the lounge, a glass partition offers a front-row seat to the workshop. Certified watchmakers open cases, adjust tiny gears and calibrate timing machines. They’re happy to answer questions on servicing or restoration, so you leave with a clearer sense of what happens when you hand over your watch.
Back on the main floor, a corner is set aside for jewellery. Archive gemstones and diamond-set pieces sit in low cases with minimal labels.
Nearby, a narrow shelf holds a small fragrance selection. Test strips stand at the ready. You’ll notice a clean burst of fig and bergamot first, with a whisper of cedar on the return.

Omega President and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann says the new Westfield store is a promising sign of the watch-maker’s growing presence in Australia, which remains a “significant and important market.”
“We’re delighted to expand our presence in New South Wales and connect with new clients across the region. It’s an exciting store in this beautiful modern shopping precinct, and we look forward to welcoming everyone inside,” Aeschlimann says.
