Qantas Group has posted its first full-year statutory profit after tax since FY19, and claims it plans to share benefits with employees and shareholders.

The Flying Kangaroo has unveiled a new livery, or customisation, on three Qantas Group aircraft showcasing its support of the Yes23 campaign.

Vanessa Hudson, who will replace Alan Joyce as Group CEO of Qantas in November 2023, will receive a fixed annual salary of $1.6 million per annum, the airline has revealed.

Alan Joyce, a mathematics progeny who has a Master of Science from Trinity College, has been leading the Qantas Group since 2008. Having slashed annual costs by $2 billion to survive in 2014 and beyond, a reinvented Qantas was generating stellar profits and celebrating its centenary year in 2020 when the covid-19 pandemic gate-crashed the party.
